QA Analyst
Quincy, MA (New England - MA, NH, RI, CT)
6 months contract
IT Experience: 7+ years
Hiring: Phone + In person

The QA Analyst will review user requirements and use cases to prepare and execute test plans, scripts. The incumbent must be skilled in testing web-based applications, with focus on effective database query structure, data retrieval, geographic mapping, customized charting and reporting, and statistical analysis, in order to execute robust system and user acceptance testing.


Skills/Background desired:
  • Diagnostic and problem solving skills to help with root cause analysis.
  • Translating the work of business analysts and subject matter experts to ensure well defined requirements contribute to defined functional use cases.
  • Creation of robust and reliable test cases based on input (requirements and use cases) for deployment during standard testing phases.
  • Knowledge of tools used for regression testing and compliance certification including IBM/Rational testing products (ClearCase, Test Manager), as automation tools such as Selenium and QuickTest Pro, and ADA Compliance tools (JAWS, Policy Tester, and Deque Worldspace).
  • Experience with web service validation including testing and certification of proper security, vulnerability compliance, virus scanning and encryption.
  • Experience with Health and Human Services applications, with preference given to candidates with experience testing large Community Health Information Profile (CHIP) or other public health applications of a similar nature. 

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Computer Sciences/Engineering or associated discipline, or 6 years or more of work history in a Quality Assurance role.
  • Expert knowledge of all testing methodologies (white vs. black box test work, system vs. functional), with a solid understanding of quality assurance as part of the development process
  • Well-versed in software process/SDLC methodologies, particularly the Unified Process Development Methodology with focus on requirements and test management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) with experience importing and managing data in Excel.
  • Familiarity with SQL query tools and report generation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with project managers, software developers, business analysts and contributing staff members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in project teams, providing relevant quality assurance services to a broad audience
  • Highly analytic and able to independently analyze test results and be confident making decisions and recommendations
