Position:   Manual Tester Role (Black Box)

Location:  Seattle, WA

Duartion:  6 Months

                                                                                  Must be on site in Hicksville, NY- testing the device – not mobile app testing

Job Description:

                       several manual testers that have worked from an Embedded on up perspective. Must understand the Protocol Layers and the Communication Layers that connect the Android device to the Verizon network. We are not looking for 3rd Party Testers. They are not testing 3rd party apps (Like REI Shopping or ESPN Videos) on an Android Device. These Testers know Embedded for the Mobile OEM. They understand the Embedded, Android, and will know if the problem is CHIP, DEVICE, or CDMA (Operator) related.  If there is a BUG/Defect - these guys know where the bug came from - Device, Software, Chip, Carrier - Because they are testing the Mobile Device before it goes to the network

Responsibilities:

- Conduct manual (Black box) tests as part of a new product certification effort and understand product development cycle for mobile devices

- Work with remote development team to validate New Features

- Perform first level troubleshooting of issues found and generate defect reports

- Assist in verifying defect resolution

- Participate in Field testing or lab testing for mobile devices

Qualifications:

- 3+ years testing experience in Android mobile platform environment. Android or IOS is preferred and 1+ years of carriers certification testing is a plus.

- Must have solid experience testing Mobile applications and Technical understanding of wireless applications and network interactions with handsets - e.g., browser, messaging, email, app downloads, etc., is highly desired

- Knowledge of some wireless technologies/standards: CDMA /GSM/UMTS/ LTE, Verizon uses CDMA protocol - so this knowledge is preferred but will take LTE, UMTS and GSM protocols. (if they understand those, they can do Manual Tests on the Mobile device)

- White/black box testing methodologies

- Working knowledge with Android environment

- Implementing test harness to automate functional, stress and system tests.

- Basic understanding of Android APIs and Android build system.

- Knowledge of protocol stack functionalities/features

- Knowledge of common test equipment (R&S, Anite, Anritsu)

- Understanding of modem validation process

-  Ability to write and execute test cases and develop Test suites.

- Automation testing experience is a plus

- Experience in version control systems such as Git.
