Sr Technical Specialist Lead (ETL)/ Data Modeling

Location: Hoffman Estates, IL

Duration: : 3-6 months with possible extension.

Job Description::

 Sr Technical Specialist is a qualified candidate will provide comprehensive ETL architecture solutions for Business Intelligence Data Integration and Responsible for data architecture and data integration with dimensional data modeling, data sourcing / mapping, and data flow within the implemented solution.

Areas impacted include overall technical solutions, ETL design, Data modeling, development, testing, and implementation of  large scale multi-terabyte solutions and/or applications spanning Business, Financial, Operations, and other related areas of the company. 

Additional areas include leading technical discussions, design/code reviews, technical documentation and defining overall best practices as related to data integration.

The Technical Specialist should play multi roles ( ETL, Data Modeling, Data architecture and business requirements analysis ) based on the project phases and maintains technology expertise.

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements::             

•             Work effectively with internal business and technical stakeholders including ability to present technical solutions while showing a strong understanding of business activities and objectives.

•             Create ETL design and technical specifications that are complete, consistent, concise, and achievable

•             Proactive and diligent in identifying and communicating scope, design, and development issues and recommending potential solutions.

•             Ability to perform BSA activities and participating in technical reviews.

•             Provides technical support to the accomplishment of business and technical objectives.

•             Resolves difficult technical challenges by applying effective problem solving, analysis and decision making skills, independently applies sophisticated analysis in evaluating issues.

•             Strong Teradata, ETL, UNIX and Control_M

•             Strong and data modeling knowledge. Data Stage experience is a plus

•             Strong knowledge on various ETL architectures and ability to establish best practices

•             Excellent Experience in development of data warehousing applications using Teradata BTEQ and Teradata utilities

•             Experience in architecting the data model and data-flows designs for Data warehouse and Master Data structures

•             Experience in performance tuning of slowly performing data loads/ ETLs

•             Working experience in  Agile/Scrum environment is highly preferred

•             Exposure to Micro Strategy / Cognos / Tableau  is preferred

•             Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types

•             Must be capable to accept and influence a fast pace of organization change.

•             Able to empower and motivate others in a fast-paced environment

•             Onsite Offshore experience is highly preferred

Years of Experience        8- 10 Years of IT Experience

8years of ETL Architecture / Design

4 to 6 years of data modeling/data architecture

8 to 10 years of Teradata experience 

4 years of UNIX and Control_M experience

Exposure to Micro Strategy / Cognos / Tableau  is preferred
