Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer - Web Developer + Tester

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Duration: 9+ months

Job description:

The Senior Software Engineer is a member of a Software Development Team. The Senior Software Engineer performs all aspects of Software Development including programming, system design, code review, design review, unit testing, and integration testing. A Senior Software Engineer may also be required to supervise other resources.  Specific responsibilities include:

• Web Application Development
• Perform development tasks as specified in Informatics' SDLC project methodology and standards.
• Participate as a team member on projects to release client's products.
• Assist the Support Team as needed to address customer issues.
• Contribute to the development team with senior level skills in the product domain and/or technology.
• Mentor other developers on technology, technical approach, project execution, and domain skills.
• In some cases, supervise the work of other team members.  This may include assigning work, checking on status, and escalating issues.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in .NET including C#.
• 1+ years of experience developing web-based applications using Visual Studio 2010, ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• A track record of achievement and delivering on significant responsibilities in a timely fashion.
• Experience with OO design principles and can both understand and apply appropriate design patterns.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft software technologies in the desktop application, client-server, n-tier and/or networking sectors, including .NET.
• Takes ownership of tasks and drives them to completion.
• Is able to work with minimal direction and find solutions.
• Comfortable with and effective at expressing and exchanging ideas, concepts and designs in a group setting.
• Comfortable working within an international team.
• Flexible during times of change.
• Comfortable with working in a dynamic, flexible environment.
• Additional qualifications designated by the hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in .NET including C#.
• 3+ years of experience developing web-based applications.
• 1+ years of experience in an applicable business domain (LIMS, Chromatography, Pharmaceutical R&D, laboratory).
• Master's degree, or equivalent work experience, in the IT industry.
• Has significant knowledge in several different technologies.
• Experience developing commercial software products.
• Experience working within a distributed, international team.
• Experience supervising and mentoring other developers.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

• A college degree, preferably related to engineering or software development.
• 5+ years of team software development with working knowledge of unit testing, source code control, defect tracking, and version management.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills
