Title: SharePoint Migration Specialist

Location: New Orleans, LA                                                                                                                                                                               

Duration: Long Term

SharePoint Migration Specialist (Architect or Sr. Business Analyst/Project Manager) to assist one of our multi-national Oil and Gas clients who is migrating from SP07 to SP10, and we need someone to act as site / site collection administrator and also as a first line of support for our large user base.
There is a global SharePoint support organization, but all the rough edges are not off that yet
and we need someone who we are sure will be prioritizing end user support and has the
skills to fill in the any gaps in the support process.

The SharePoint Specialist will also need to assist with helping user's migrate sites from 2007 to 2010 and can help manage the decommissioning of SP2007. Again, there is a global process for this
but we need someone user facing who can ensure that nothing is taken down inadvertently.

Finally we have some users that are interested in extending their use of SharePoint and
we would like to foster that with excellent on-the-ground support.

Roles and Responsibilities:

·         Manage SharePoint 2007 to 2010 migrations

·         Manage decommissioning of SharePoint 2007

·         First-line SharePoint support

·         Manage site collections

·         Manage permissions

·         Configure and maintain metadata

Technical Skills and Experience:

·         3-5 yrs experience with Sharepoint 2007 and 2010.

·         Detailed understanding of SP site collection management, SP permission mgmt, SP metadata, and SP collaboration capabilities

·         Good customer-facing skills,

·         Excellent communication, positive attitude, ability to work collaboratively with the global Sharepoint program.

·         Must be self-directed and able to work in a matrixed organization.
