Position: SAN/NAS Admin
Location: Bloomington, IL
Duration: 12+ months
Rate: $50/hr C2C
· The individual will be responsible for administrating Storage Area Networks and NAS in an enterprise environment. Specifically, the individual will be responsible for performing all the necessary logical and physical steps to perform storage provisioning and masking for hosts (Windows, RH Linux, HP-UX, AIX).
· Additional responsibilities will include troubleshooting SAN related problems, switch administration and disk array administration.
The perspective candidate should possess the following:
· Extensive knowledge of the Windows and RH Linux operating systems
· Extensive knowledge of VMware
· Ability to communicate technical material effectively
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Ability to train others on SAN technology
Extensive knowledge of administrating HDS disk array subsystem
· Extensive knowledge of HDS Blue Arc HNAS
· Extensive knowledge of administrating HP disk array subsystem
· Extensive knowledge of administrating Cisco MDS fiber channel switches
· Excellent written communication SAN Analyst Job Description General SAN (Storage Area Network) analysts regularly provide assistance in routine NAS/SAN maintenance, provision storage and file systems and troubleshoot NAS/SAN related issues.
Specific Skills
· Working knowledge of each of the OS platforms attached to the SAN (Windows, RH Linux, HP-UX, AIX, and VMware) at a administrator level.
· A working knowledge of NFS and CIFS.
· The individual also needs to be an SME on all software packages utilized by vendors in supporting the environment such as replication software (hardware & software), OS driver installation, multi-pathing software etc.
· Detailed knowledge on the installation, configuration and problem solving of fiber channel switch hardware and software as well as large system disk arrays hardware and their associated software.
