The Job Description: 

Our client is seeking a passionate, product-focused consultant who thrives on delivering exceptional results and delighting customers. The person in this role will be working on the Luna Control Center, our customer portal. Luna is the primary method that customers use to manage and view services within the Akamai global network. Engineers who work in our portal utilize the core technologies of Akamai to present services, products, and solutions to customers. Luna is a fully built multi-tier web application environment, primarily developed using the Java Enterprise Edition. 

Must Have Skills Need: 

• Must have a minimum 10+ years of experience as a Web Application and Services Development experience
• Must have a minimum 8+ years of experience using ‘Java Enterprise Edition’. 
• Must have a minimum of 8+ years of experience developing database-backed applications using Oracle. 
• Must have a minimum of 5+ years experience utilizing Spring, AWT, Swing, Hibernate, Ajax, JUnit, Struts2, XML, JavaScript 
• Must have a minimum of 7+ years of experience Deploying and Supporting Applications on theLinux or UNIX operating system. 
• Must have a minimum of 8+ years of experience working with Internet protocols and concepts (IP, TCP, HTTP, DNS). 
• Must have a minimum of 8+ years of experience using the Model View Controller Architecture. 
• Must have worked is a fast-paced, dynamic, small-team environment.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Must have a minimum 10+ years of experience with high-availability Internet applications.


Responsibilities: 

This software engineer will take a central role in delivering products and services for the Web Experience Business Unit. This developer will create new features from conception through release and enhance existing applications while ensuring that Akamai customers have an exceptional experience using Luna. In this role, you will participate in the design, development, testing and deployment of management, security provisioning, and monitoring applications. You will work in a highly cross-functional capacity, partnering with product management, QA, technical writers, and service delivery professionals.
