Network Engineer

Location : Atlanta, GA-30316

Duration: 6+ Months

Network Administrator supports the agency's mission by performing local area network (LAN) analysis planning and administration, in the areas of design, configuration, procurement, installation, maintenance, security, and support.

Specific duties include:
Resolving and developing solutions relating to LAN. Modifies existing LAN to meet changing needs
Meeting customer quality requirements for LAN operations using feedback from customers Preparing customer and information system documentation for the use of new and revised LAN applications
Performing complex analysis and network maintenance and support within Windows 2003/2008, VMware and Lotus Notes/Domino 8.x environments
Participating in the preparation of feasibility studies
Leading project teams and planning work activities
Providing training and operational guidance to end users
Analyzing information needs and providing business solutions using information technology
Generating reports for management and staff. Provides installation, network access, control and troubleshooting for desktop computers and training users Installing desktop hardware and applications (including customizing configurations)
Troubleshooting both hardware and software problems
Working with end users utilizing a range of technology.
Certificate management for firewalls and websites.

Desired Qualifications:

 • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or similar field of study from an accredited college or university
• Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional -plus
• Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or Engineer - plus
• High level of experience with Cisco firewalls, routers, switches and wireless access points
• Cisco PIX and ASA Firewall administration 5505, 5510 or 5520 Firewalls.
• EIGRP, PBR and Static Routing
• VLAN Architecture, VTP, STP (802.1d and 802.1w)
• Experience with TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, and SNTP protocols and Per-VLAN Spanning Tree (PVST)
• Experience configuring DMZ
• IPsec Tunnels, GRE tunnel configuration and support.
• T1, PRI, MPLS, Service WAN technologies
• Experience administering DHCP and DNS.
• Experience installing and configuring servers, desktops, and laptops
• Experience supporting Windows 2003/2008 networks, MS Office and Lotus Domino/Notes
