Sr DB2 DBA Consultant
Location: downtown Atlanta, GA – Only Local candidates please
Contract: 11 months
Telephonic + F2F
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Strong database administration skills within an enterprise-level environment
* Expertise with very large DB2 LUW DPF implementations
* Strong scripting skills and experience
* Experience supporting DB2 high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
* Solid understanding of technical infrastructure environments that enterprise-level database environments run on and ability to interface with infrastructure teams as-needed
* Keen understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) and solid understanding of business processes
* Experience reviewing ongoing and proposed projects to identify opportunities for reuse and process improvement
* Experience reviewing technical documentation to verify compliance with requirements and established architectural standards and guidelines
* Experience identifying, clarifying, documenting, and resolving issues while communicating and escalating as required
Competencies:
* IBM Smart Analytics System or IBM PureSystems experience highly desired
* Proven experience working effectively with others and share knowledge to ensure team success
* Problem solving and fact finding skills
Proven UNIX experience, including shell scripting.
* Deep understanding of SQL statement tuning.
* Experience with Data Transformation Tools.
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and fact finding skills
*Proven analytic skills and strong judgment, strong analytical and communication skills
* A strong desire to learn and grow
Minimum Education & Experience:
* 7+ years of experience as a DB2 LUW administrator
* 5+ years of experience with Data Partitioning Feature (DPF)
* 2+ years of experience using OPM (Optim Performance Manager) and DB2 WLM (Workload Management)
* 2+ years of experience using Data Studio, DB2TOP, DB2PD, Monitor Traces
* Bachelor's degree preferred and excellent verbal and written communication skills
