Teradata Consultant – L3

Location: Memphis, TN

Duration: 6 Months

Job Description:

v  Implement variety of data models, database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes

v  Resolve complex database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues

v  PROVIDES LEADERSHIP IN THE DESIGN SOLUTIONS, IMPLEMENTATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF DATABASES

v  PERFORMS ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS, CODING, TESTING, DOCUMENTATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF MULTIPLE, LARGE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

v  RESPONSIBLE FOR QUALITY CONTROL AND AUDITING OF DATABASES TO ENSURE ACCURATE AND APPROPRIATE USE OF DATA

v  SERVES AS TEAM LEAD LIAISON BETWEEN BUSINESS CUSTOMERS, DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT GROUPS

v  COACHES THE DEVELOPMENT OF LESS SENIOR DBAS

v  ENSURES DELIVERABLES

v  Be responsible for space management, back-up, monitoring, and maintaining ongoing performance of Teradata databases

v  Develop updates or modifications according to business needs

v  Monitor and review the work of other database administrators to ensure correct practices and procedures

v  Design technical solutions and prepare implementation methods to be performed by other DBA team members

v  Assist with work plan development and work distributions for team members

v  Provide incident and problem management support, including 24x7 pager support responsibilities.

v  Experience working with Journal Tables

v  Experience working in an Active Data Warehouse environment

v  Experience with Backup and Recovery software suites

v  Database security, access management and monitoring

v  Fulfill regulatory compliance evidence collection (Sarbanes Oxley and PCI) and audit/database logging.

v  Experience with Database Query Log (DBQL) Query Performance Tuning, Teradata Active System Management (TASM), Protegrity Data Encryption Technologies

v  UNIX experience for managing Teradata systems (Linux and Teradata MPRAS)

v  Thorough knowledge of underlying database management systems products and tools such as Queryman, BTEQ, Multiload, Fastload,T-Pump, Fastexport, Teradata Management Server, AWS.

v  Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions

v  Demonstrated ability to prioritize a work load and meet project deadlines

v  Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions
