VMWare Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: Long term contract with potential to hire

Our Healthcare client is looking for a Microsoft Windows and VMware Expert to assist with various initiatives. The candidate will function as the technical resource across numerous IT technical projects and will provide day to day and after hour support. Candidate is Responsible for the maintenance and administration of application and infrastructure server resources. Additionally, provides analysis, evaluation, and support of the environment operations which includes monitoring systems, resources, applications, and users to ensure maximum system availability.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience in similar work environment. Minimum 5 years of IT work experience focused in production support. Hands-on knowledge of design, implementation, management, and support of the following: VMWare and Microsoft Windows; current and past versions. Candidate should also be very proficient with Active Directory, Windows File and Print services. Other software experience should potentially include Lumension (Patchlink), and Qualsys.
Experience as a team member on project teams in a cross functional environment. Strong analytical skills desired. Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills are required. Ability to communicate effectively with management at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated experience within a customer focused environment. Candidates should have a strong sense of responsibility and initiative, the ability to prioritize and organize tasks carefully and accurately. Candidates will be required to work weekends. There will be no overtime or time and a half pay for weekend work and time worked over 40/hrs.
