POSITION : Data Analyst

LOCATION: Madison, W

DURATION: 6+ months

Job Description

This resource will work directly with business users to perform requirements gathering and analysis for new reports, perform ad hoc data requests, and execute ongoing operational reports.  This will be a client-facing role and strong presentation and communication skills are very important. Public Sector experience, particularly related to the administration of public assistance program, is preferred but not required for this role.  Candidates will need to have a strong understanding of the following:

•           Capability to interface with business users to drive out requirements and understand business needs.

•           Expert knowledge in SQL and relational databases

•           Three to five years of experience using Mainframe, COBOL, DB2, and JCL

•           Strong knowledge in COBOL

•           Good experience with Microsoft Excel to format and summarize the data.

•           Proven spoken/written communication skills.

•           Minimum of two years in data analysis is preferred

•           Knowledge of using Business Objects to create ad-hoc reports to query data is desirable

•           Knowledge of using SAS to query/manipulate data is desirable
