Job Description
This position is for a Teradata developer who will be responsible for documentation, development and implementation of projects on a Terradata ETL environment. The resource will be responsible to design and develop code, perform peer code reviews and fine tune code. The ideal candidate will possess strong ETL concepts, technical aptitude for writing SQL and understanding database concepts, attention to detail and produce efficient unit tested code with minimum defects and optimal performance.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Writing Teradata SQLs and performance tuning
- Very good experience in Teradata utilities like BTEQ/mload/fastload/Tpump/fast export
- Good experience in creating Informatica mappings, sessions, workflows and performance tuning
- Create ETL Detail Design & ETL specs at the Informatica mapping level
- UNIX commands & shell scripting
- Automation of ETL tasks thru schedulers
- Good experience in writing Oracle queries
- Create Informatica, Unix, Teradata and Oracle code artifacts
- Perform Unit Testing and performance testing for large volume of data
- Resolve defects during testing
- Create deployment guide and Run book
- Organize and consolidate scripts for workaround and production support
- Preferred Skills
- 3 or more years of experience in Teradata ETL development. Good knowledge and experience in IDQ, profiling, rule matching and scorcecard is a plus.
- Optimization of SQL queries
- Skilled in data warehousing, data marts and large databases
- Good working knowledge on Autosys or any scheduling tool
- Excellent track record of execution and delivery
- ETL design using Teradata, Oracle and Unix Shell Scripting
- Enhancements, Maintenance and Development for DWH applications
- Prepare Requirements documents, HLD documents, Unit Test Cases, Deployment Guides, User manuals etc
- Write schedule definitions for Scheduler
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work independently and understand the business requirements
- Provide status updates to management
