Title: Test Manager

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Duration: through 12/14.

Rate: $45/hr on C2C Max.

Managing the client tester resources and estimating their time, getting them up to speed on the project, approving their PTO time etc., basically having them "report" to you during the duration of a project.

Should know HP Quality Center for defect management. (Testing Tools).

The description covers all of the Test Manager's tasks.

The Test Manager (TM) will provide guidance and support for technical and business staffs while directing quality assurance efforts to design, write, and execute quality assurance plans for new and modified application software. The TM will interact with development staff to influence and coordinate the implementation of quality practices and procedures and will gather pertinent information to build (or oversee the building of) test cases and plans that will ensure all software development meets design specifications, company standards, and end-user requirements. TM will communicate with Technical Project Managers regarding testing tasks, metrics reporting, and problem determination and resolution.

Interact with project team to influence and coordinate the implementation of quality practices and procedures, as set forth in ePMM, and will gather pertinent information to build (or oversee the building of) test cases and plans that will ensure all software development meets design specifications, company standards, and end-user requirements.

• Participate with the project team in planning the project
• Participate in peer reviews and conduct assessments
• Arrange quality assurance tasks within the project plan
• Develop system-level test plans and publish test cases/scripts, along with quality assurance standards and procedures
• Develop and publish quality assurance plans for projects
• Lend support on production issues and assist in diagnosing issues or problems that arise in the production environment
• Secure required approvals related to quality control planning, execution, and product/deliverable implementation
• Elevate issues irresolvable at the project level to higher levels of management for resolution
• Advise on and implement new methods, tools, and/or quality assurance processes.

Oversee testing phases using a matrix-managed approach; this includes Unit, Integration, System, UAT, Performance Testing, and any necessary Compliance testing. 

• Communicate test status and develop testing metrics
• Identify and coordinate all non-Information Services testing that impacts or interacts with other testing efforts
• Identify and track defects
• Perform all quality activities as specified by ePMM.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in information systems or business-related field, or equivalent work experience required. CQA/CSTE certification a plus. 
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects
• Expert knowledge of application(s) under responsibility and underlying infrastructure
• Deep understanding of software development process
• Solid understanding and experience of project management methodologies
• Expertise with testing tools and methods in order to perform user acceptance testing
• Extensive experience with the definition and implementation of automated testing framework and process
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels
• Strong ability to lead process enhancement activities for development, training, metrics and assurance
• Excellent communication and persuasion skills to be a strong advocate for quality
• Ability to multi-task effectively
• Experience with Testing tools ***
