Position:          SAP ABAP Technical Consultant

Duration:     6-9 months

Location:          NYC, NY

JOB DESCRIPTION

Please find the details below:

•        Work as part of the ABAP team with prime responsibility for coding and documenting ABAP custom solutions required in support of the template.

•        Liaise with the functional and business teams to discuss, design and build robust/efficient solutions.

•        Searching for and applying OSS notes to solve SAP issues.

•        Adherence to ABAP Team Policies and procedures, and compliance with SAP recommendations regarding ABAP development.

•        Liaise with any other ABAP team members to maintain and develop coherent, optimized, integrated, and standardized objects

•        Liaise with other SAP teams to communicate ABAP aspects, and co-ordinate and optimize cross-module requirements

•        Prepare comprehensive documentation required according to methodology for all ABAP work

•        Support the entire implementation effort during all project stages, ensuring that in areas of assigned responsibility milestones and related sign-offs are achieved on a timely basis and in accord with current project plan

•        Actively promote the global template approach within the organization

•        Potentially leading small development projects and managing several team members

•        Involvement in SAP demonstrations as required

•        Any other duties as directed by the ABAP manager

Responsibilities:

•        Detailed in-depth technical ABAP knowledge coupled with solid all round hands-on experience.

•        Minimum basic experience needed to do the job of 3 years ABAP development.

•        development experience in at least three different project implementations

•        Solid SAP development experience utilizing ABAP, ABAP WebDynpro and ABAP Objects.

•        A broad understanding of at least two of the main Financial (FI & CO) and Logistics modules (SD & MM) in core R/3 preferred.

•        Prior experience of adapting SAP R/3  to a Service sector environment would be definitely advantageous.

•        Previous experience of both sub-system interfacing, and researching and coding User Exits and BADIs.

•        Experience with report development, custom reports, performance tuning, maintenance and support.

•        Have good documentation skills.

•        Have excellent communication skills.

•        Show initiative and lead by example.

•        Be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

•        Ability to work as part of team, or on own as required.

Qualifications:

•        Detailed in-depth technical ABAP knowledge coupled with solid all round hands-on experience.

•        Knowledge and practical understanding of ABAP Objects and ABAP WebDynpro;

•        Experience and knowledge of WAS (Web Application Server), BSPs and their use in SAP development is beneficial.

•        Having practical experience and a good knowledge of Sapscript is very beneficial

•        A broad understanding of at least two of the main Financial (FI & CO) and Logistics modules (SD & MM) in core R/3 preferred.

•        Ability to manage a small team while leading small development projects
