Position:          MS Systems Administrator

Location:          Houston, TX

Length:             3-6 months

Start Date:        ASAP

Overview:

Candidate will be responsible for day-to-day production support and operations of various applications within a MS Production SQL and SharePoint 2010 environments. (Strong knowledge of fault tolerant / cluster environments), including troubleshooting and resolving application issues, problem resolution, and escalation management. Candidate should have project leadership skills.

1.            Must have 3-5 yrs. application support inclusive of Windows 2008/2010 Server, Active Directory, MSSQL Server and SharePoint.

a.            Manage production application infrastructure and develop maintenance schedules (3rd party Applications and license management, OS and security patches).

i.             Strong SQL Skills, SQL security,  Some SQL/VB scripting experience, ability to write SQL queries

b.            Ensure Application back-up and recovery strategies are documented, planned, and tested.

c.            Develop and communicate root cause analysis of issues to all parties involved for resolution

d.            Develop and document systems monitors and health checks

2.            Must have previous experience:

a.             Developing documents relating to application installation, support and related scheduled jobs

b.            Developing business requirements documents and lead projects.

c.             Work with Vendors to resolve issues, implement fixes and upgrades.

d.            Incident management life cycle skills and experience

e.             Coordination with venders, workstation, and infrastructure teams to ensure applications are meeting business needs.

3.            Knowledge of Problem and Change Management processes and tools strong plus

4.            Excellent written and verbal communication skills with various levels of an organization

5.            Strong analytical, assessment and problem-solving skills.

6.            Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
