Job Title: Senior QA Tester
Location: Columbia, SC
Duration: 5+ Months Contract
Required Skills:
Thorough knowledge of Software Testing theories and best practices
Demonstrates ability to understand software requirements
Demonstrates effective communication, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients and customers at all levels, both formally and informally
Experience testing in an Agile/Scrum environment
Demonstrates ability to develop test scripts/scenarios from business process models, use cases, requirements and business rules
Demonstrates understanding of RDBMS and ability to create SQL queries as needed to support testing activities
Ability to acquire an understanding of the underlying issues in complex problems or situations by correctly relating these to simpler or better understood concepts, models or previous experience
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
The State seeks a skilled professional with a full understanding of the SDLC and level of testing experience who can work independently and alongside project team members, State agency representatives and all impacted Third Party vendors. The Agile project methodology will primarily be leveraged which will require significant organizational and leadership skills. The following duties will apply for this Senior QA Tester position
Collaborate and report to the Test Manager on all testing duties
Work with Test Manager to establish and evolve formal QA processes that adhere to software development best practices and quality standards
Working on an Agile development team to perform manual and automated software testing
Estimating testing durations based on the description and details of a Story
Developing and documenting clear, concise and repeatable test cases from functional requirements
Working with developers and other teammates to analyze test results and troubleshoot problems found
Timely and accurate reporting of defects found during testing using a defect tracking system such as JIRA, Quality Center, or other industry-standard tool
Provide progress/status reports on testing activities to Management
Preparation/review of test reports
Checking daily progress against targets, reporting as necessary and taking action to resolve exceptions Participation in requirements gathering sessions, defect review meetings, and project gate reviews as necessary
Training and mentoring of additional test resources as they are brought onto the project
