Description

DB2 Mainframe Systems Administrator. The Department of Administration is in need of services to perform installations of vendor's new releases, system upgrades, & patches with the ability to resolve vendor provided software related problems in the department's existing mainframe environment. The specific areas needing coverage include IBM's DB2 and the peripheral applications (like EZ-DB2, Omegamon, Smartest, AssistTS, CEDA, CICS Transaction Server, etc.) that compliment. The service provider will need to perform system level backups and recovery, maintain & monitor system data files and system level configurations to ensure integrity of the environments. **Please note, this is not an application development position. We are looking for someone to provide system administration for the products running on the mainframe.**

We are looking for those System Administrators that have extensive experience in a large environment working with mainframe customers and knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the DB2 and CICS fields. The service provider will also need to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of complicated tasks. A degree of creativity in solutions developed and latitude is expected with this work while following vendor best practices.
