Title: Sr. Systems Engineer.

Location: Dublin, OH

Position Type: Contract – 6+ months

Rate = $50/hr C2C

Summary:

-Looking for a motivated and customer-oriented Senior Systems Engineer (Windows Server & Virtualization).

-This role is to strategically innovate, incubate, design and build internal private cloud data center solutions using VMware SDDC Suite of products and different vendor Hardware to build optimized vertical solutions.

-Evangelize solutions with our internal Customers and IT Development teams on the adoption, benefits and efficiency including technical architecture and design activities which focus on reducing costs and improving service through improved processes with the effective application of information technologies consistent with the business and IT strategies.

-Expertise with virtual desktop infrastructure and network infrastructure technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenApp, and Data Center is mandatory.

-The successful candidate will need to have in-depth understanding of industry leading virtualization technologies from both a design and engineering perspective.

-Individual will need to be able to demonstrate technical capabilities and solution offerings for virtualization in the Data Center, on the Desktop, and in the Cloud.

-Candidates for this position must be able to, from day one, roll up their sleeves and hit the ground running, and bring their experience to the team.

Essential Functions:

-Designs and develops highly complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance.

-High level subject matter expert supporting the Enterprise Infrastructure Platform Services team.

-Co-development of strategy, architecture, & design activities for enterprise technology infrastructure, utilizing subject matter experts from the functional areas as well as external resources such as vendors, etc.

-Overall responsible for production support, monitoring, troubleshooting, design engineering and problem resolution of large VMware & Windows server environment (server hardware, SAN switches, storage, virtual infrastructure & backups).

-Confer with end-users, clients, or management to define business requirements for complex solutions and development.

-Provide direction and day to day and support for the systems infrastructure (Cisco UCS).

-Provide direction and day to day support for the virtualization infrastructure (VMware and KVM).

-Ensure that all supported environments are monitored to provide alerts when there are problems (including performance).

-Ensure that all supported environments are fully documented, including procedures for their use and management.

-Participate in the design, planning, and implementation of new projects / technologies and ensuring that the solutions are highly available.

-Work with vendors to resolve issues and to work on new technologies and proposals.

-Design and implement solutions for all virtualized infrastructure based on best practices to support both data center and distributed server infrastructures and desktop environments.

-Active Directory design and troubleshooting, implementation, monitoring and support for an enterprise environment consisting of at least 500 servers and supporting a minimum of 8,000 users

-Good understanding with database management systems such as Oracle and MS SQL.

Basic Qualifications:

-8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.

-At least 7 years experience in managing Citrix server farm to including high availability configurations (version 6.5)

-At least 7 years experience in managing Windows systems, including Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008. Windows Server 2012

-At least 3 years experience in managing Citrix Netscalers

-At least 3 years experience in Virtual Desktop (VDI) configuration and implementation

-At least 5 years experience in working with virtual infrastructure (i.e. VMWare)

-At least 5 years experience in and ability to write shell scripts and utility programs for Windows system maintenance

-Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required.

-Enterprise level architecture and engineering skills, including disaster recovery

-Architect-level skills designing, implementing, & supporting Citrix XenDesktop (VDI) in both a VMware ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM environments

-Demonstrated advance level experience with vCloud Director, vSphere, ESX/ESX, Hyper-V, VMware View, Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, XenServer and related VDI products.

-Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

-Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

-Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

-Motivated and self-driving personnel.

-Experience of high volume and HA infrastructures.

-Experience with Network and Application Load Balancers (NetScalers, F5 etc), NAS / SAN technologies, Microsoft Clustering, Active Directory, Terminal Services

Education:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or combination of education and equivalent work experience.

Certifications/Licenses:

-ITIL Foundation certified is strongly preferred

-Microsoft certifications are strongly preferred

-Minimum of an Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MSCE 2003) certification or Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS 2008)

-VMware ESX certification a plus

-Citrix

-Education/CE's High School
