Position:Java Architect
Location:Atlanta Ravinia ,GA
Duration:6+ months

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Must  have experience working in a SCRUM/true Agile development environment.
 
The Application Architect will be for the planning and implementation of comprehensive technology solutions that meet IHG's clients' business requirements on high-impact technology projects supporting IHG Loyalty Technologies within Guest Solutions.
Projects are all centered around attracting and retaining IHG hotel guest business and brand loyalty.
Examples include: IHG Rewards Club, Ambassador Program, and a variety of other rewards-related projects and programs.
Architect will provides guidance and architectural oversight during the detailed architecture design, application design, build, and testing and deployment phases.
Architect will be hands-on working with development team members, both on/near/offshore.
 
Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
• 8 - 10 years of IT solution delivery, preferably playing a diverse set of roles (e.g. programmer, architect, project manager)
•Experienced with all aspects of architecture including application, data, security and infrastructure
•Experienced with program/projects involving complex integration of disparate types of technologies/platforms
 
·Skills and Competencies:
Deep understanding of the architecture discipline, processes, concepts and best practices
Solid experience with a variety of technologies/approaches including J2EE, mainframe platform, packaged applications, multi-platforms applications, human workflow, EAI, SOA
Ability to apply industry/technical knowledge to provide solutions that increase business results and/or minimize risk regarding the integration of applications across multiple product systems and delivery channels
Ability to quickly evaluate options, make decisions and execute within an intense high-tech environment
Strong documentation, written and verbal communication skills
·Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Define end to end technical solutions that take into account the enterprise architecture strategies, current state environment and constraints; analyze the viability of the solution to meet program timeline, budget and quality
• Work with Data Architecture, Security Architecture and Infrastructure SME’s to ensure that all aspects of the solution architecture are defined and elaborated
• Leads multiple technology groups and vendors to ensure that the application, integration, infrastructure and security architectures are designed to meet evolving business requirements, standards for reliability, scalability and availability
• Identify, recommend, source, negotiate and implement emerging IT trends, developments and improvements/solutions by buying, building or reusing
• Assist project teams with establishing standard process and defining all development infrastructure including servers, tiered environments, migration standards, and version control standards
• Provide technical support to IT management and developers to ensure efficient applications and adherence to standards
• Partners with other Architects and Developers by: ensuring all deviations are identified and approved; identifying gaps in current standards/services and negotiating enterprise vs. project solutions and developing standard application architectures, frameworks and development standards
