Job Description

Abstract

The position of Citrix Netscaler Engineer within End User Computer Technology is responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of the Express Scripts Citrix environment. The position is responsible for the full administration of our NetScaler appliances ranging from architecture and design to operations support.

Responsibilities

The position will provide support, day-to-day management, and ownership of Citrix and NetScaler environment throughout the enterprise.  The incumbent will also provide operations support from a Citrix perspective. 

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Full design and administration of all Citrix XENApp Farms and NetScaler network appliances.
• Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Citrix NetScaler devices in the support of Citrix Access Gateway, reverse proxy, and SSL/VPN implementations using RSA.
• Implementation and configuration of NetScaler features including: Load Balancing, Content Switching, SSL Offloading, URL Rewriting, Responder, Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB), GSLB Routing Methods, Content Filtering, Coaching/Compression, Application Firewall and firmware/version updates.
• Complete support of Express Scripts Citrix environments, including: troubleshooting, application publishing, capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Provide Level 3 Operations Support for Citrix.
• Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery and create preventative measures on complex issues.
• Ability to execute changes to the infrastructure in a controlled and standardized way.
• Document the infrastructure, procedures, SOP’s and processes.
• Interaction with Service Desk, Network, Firewall, Server Engineering Teams and other business support areas for problem escalations, resolutions, reporting and coordination.
• Ensure security and controls meet or exceed IRM guidelines and policies.
• Manage system performance, reliability and availability to service level agreements.

Skills:

The Applicant must demonstrate strong working knowledge of:

• Citrix Product Suite: Citrix NetScaler 9x/10x, XENApp Server 5x & 6x, XENDestkop 5x, Web Interface, Access Suite Management & Citrix License Server administration.
• Packaging and deploying applications within a Citrix environment.
• Terminal Server Administration and roaming profiles.
• Windows 2003/2008 Server & XP/Win7/Win8 Workstation Operating Systems.
• MS Active Directory administration with strong knowledge of Group Policies and login scripts.
• WINS, DNS, & DHCP and TCP/IP networking layers.
• VMWare Administration for ESX Server (5x) and Virtual Desktop Technologies utilizing VCenter.

Knowledge / Other:

• Senior level (5 years minimum) hands on experience with Citrix implementations and design.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline preferred.

·         CCA/AD, CCP/AD and/or CCA/N Citrix certifications preferred.

·         Must have working knowledge of firewalls and routing.

·         Ability to manage time effectively.

·         Strong interpersonal skills.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Ability to be on-call 24x7 and travel as required.
