| Role: Senior Systems Engineer Responsibilities: The Senior Systems Engineer is a critical role in the Technology Operations organization. Overall responsibility is running all the revenue generating production systems for multiple properties. The Sr. Systems Engineer will be responsible for system evaluation, effective provisioning, operation and maintenance of Storage Area Networks, Database Servers running in Veritas Cluster Services and VMWare environments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
§ Deploy and maintain fault tolerant, highly available PostgreSQL Database servers in VCS environment.
§ Provision and manage Storage Area Networks and Storage Arrays to store and serve business critical data.
§ Manage data backup systems and plan for different levels of data protection.
§ Tune infrastructure for optimum DB performance and work with DBAs to find optimal tuning levels for the database.
§ Work closely with DBAs and application engineers to schedule DB maintenance, system patching and upgrades.
§ Deploy and maintain VMWare clusters hosting various web applications.
§ Available for 24x7 on-call rotation schedule. QUALIFICATIONS § 7+ years of experience as a UNIX / Storage System Administrator/Engineer. § 5+ years of experience working for an E-Commerce company
§ Hands on experience on Veritas Volume Manager and Syamntec/Veritas Cluster Server
§ CISCO SAN, FC Storage architecture § Experience with Symantec Netbackup § Storage array management background § VMWare, Linux § Nagios monitoring skills § Shell, Python or Perl Scripting knowledge § Knowledge of flash disk array is a plus § Knowledge of working in PostgreSQL environment is a plus | |
