Description

Client association and leading industry resource for breakthrough information and intelligence needed to innovate and stay relevant in an evolving marketplace seeks a Web Application Developer to join our team.  The IT organization partners with its functional business associates to define the company's technology strategy, deliver innovative applications and continuously improve its internal and customer-facing technology assets.  We are seeking a Web Application Developer who has a broad understanding of front-end web development, application-tier programming, object oriented programming practices and database design and structure. This position will be a key contributor to building, improving and maintaining the company's Web Content Management based external facing web properties and internal facing browser based commercial applications.  A successful candidate must have an affinity towards user experience (UX), superior development skills and be a self-motivated, critical thinker.

Position Responsibilities:

•             Utilize current front end web technologies to create compelling and intuitive user experiences with rich functionality.

•             Provide application development and support; maintain optimum functionality of databases and ASP.NET applications with the end user experience in mind.

•             Perform analysis, design, develop, and maintain systems and subsystems.

•             Create advanced SQL queries and Stored Procedures; update and/or create reports.

•             Work closely with business partners and stakeholders to determine and document business and functional requirements, translating those into detailed technical specifications and running code

•             Responsible for the documentation of and adherence to current development standards; to seek opportunities to utilize current or additional applications to create process improvements.

•             Coordinate and support testing activities (including development of test cases and scheduling of test events with key IT staff and users) for changes and releases (both internal and vendor based) to web applications supported by the IT applications group.

•             Communicate with all levels and functional areas of the organization.

•             Proactively identify opportunities to utilize current or innovative technical solutions to improve business processes and/or products that provide additional revenue, cost savings or efficiency gains.

•             This individual must be highly motivated, self-directed, and possess solid execution and follow-up skills.

•             The ability to probe beyond the surface of the requested data to get at the valuable (actionable) information is essential.

•             Detail oriented, but understands broader impacts of projects and tasks.

•             The ability to expand on the original request/question to deliver the data/answer and the information on how it relates on a larger scale.

•             Must be able to check and validate the results of their own and other's work. 

•             Adjust quickly to changing priorities as directed.

•             Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•             Needs to possess a strong analytical, quantitative and objective outlook.

•             Excellent people skills are also necessary since this position may interact with all levels of resources across the entire organization.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

•             Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field  

•             5+ years professional experience required

•             5+ years Front End Web Skills (HTML, JavaScript and CSS)

•             5+ years ASP.NET Application Development (C# with Visual Studio), utilizing both WebForms and ASP.net MVC frameworks

•             5+ years SQL (SQL Server RDBMS and Management Studio, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, etc.)

•             Experience with MS Office applications and SharePoint preferred

•             Experience with Agile software development methodologies strongly preferred

•             User interface design experience preferred

•             Knowledge of Telerik Sitefinity content management system preferred

•             Knowledge of the banking/financial services industry is a plus
