Build and Release Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA
Target rate: $50/hr
Job Description:
This individual will have the following responsibilities:
Release
Own and manage the company's product build processes and configurations with the development team.
Manage patch and installer releases for enterprise software products.
Work closely with support and QA (Quality Assurance) teams to reproduce, identify, and resolve patch and installer related issues with the company's various products.
Manage the source code escrow process for the company's products.
Generate product licenses for the engineering team and customer support escalations.
Build / Source Control
Own and maintain the development environment used by the Engineering team.
Manage the source code repository system used by the Engineering team.
Manage the continuous integration environments (Jenkins) for the engineering team (Dev/QA/Support/Release).
Experience Requirements:
BS CS or higher. Engineering equivalent OK.
Minimum 6 years of experience as a release engineer.
Required Skills:
OS: Windows & Unix
Continuous Integration: Jenkins (Hudson)
Build: Ant/Maven
Shell: Bash
VCS: Git & SVN (Subversion)
Desirable Skills, but not required:
OS: Specific flavors of Unix: Linux, AIX, HPUX, Solaris
Build: Archiva (Maven repository)
Shell: Python
VCS: Stash (Git) administration
Issue Tracking: Jira
Language: Java
