Aster / Hadoop Admin

Location: Woonsocket, RI

Length: 3-6 months ; Likelihood of Extension

Start: ASAP

 Required Skills:

•             Excellent skills in Aster technology and administration

•             Worked as a database administrator and proficient in database responsibilities

•             Excellent skills in  Linux operating systems, preferably as an administrator

•             Understanding of the software development lifecycle

•             Has strong collaboration skills and can communicate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of formal documentation

•             Strong communication and interpersonal skills

•             Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills

•             Ability to guide, lead, mentor and facilitate collaboration among team members

•             Be able to document where appropriate

•             Participation in a team atmosphere and working well with others.

•             Demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing tasks and resolving issues in order to deliver quality projects on time and within budget

•             Exhibits a high energy, strategic thinking, results oriented, and global collaborative approach.

Preferred Skills:

•             Experience working with other major RDBMS systems, especially Oracle, Teradata, DB2, and SqlServer

•             Exhibit  thorough understanding of windows

•             Exhibit  thorough understanding of storage configurations such as RAID, NAS, DASD and SAN

•             Familiarity with business intelligence and data warehousing development processes and techniques.

•             Experience in retail and pharmacy benefit management (PBM) businesses is a plus

EDUCATION:

•             Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field with minimum 8-12 total years professional

•             Minimum of 2-4 years of focused concentration in Aster technology/administration
