Position – UI developer

Note - Main duties and responsibilities: Front End Developer Sass CSS Backbone.js handlebars.js Jasmin grunt build js; AEM components JSP/ Sling best practices

Requirements

Client Translate wireframes, comps, and functional requirements into functional xHTML /

css/Javascript

 Develop standards compliant mark-up and code for web sites and applications

o xHTML (table-less layouts)

o CSS2 / CSS3

o Object Oriented JavaScript / Jscript

 Recommend and Develop framework and code for mobile enabled sites using

functionalities like geo locator compatible for iPhone, Android, Blackberry and

Windows devices.

 Develop according to Sapient and Industry best practices

o Search Engine Optimization

o Progressive Enhancement

o Accessibility (A, AA, AAA, Section 508)

o Cross Browser

o W3C

 Execute component design patterns according to Sapient and Industry best

practices

 Implement complex Ajax framework to facilitate data exchange and writes DOM

manipulation scripts to use the data to be represented on the front end.

 Develop Javascript using standard Frameworks

o jQuery, dojo, Yahoo UI etc.

 Develop small custom JavaScript libraries for reuse across the application with:

o Error handling

o Namespacing

o Memory management

 Integrate Social Media plug-ins and apis like FB, TW, YT etc

Work on CMS based environment e.g. Stellent, Interwoven, Hybris/Endeca

 Use Sapient SA3 development methodology to track and deliver components.

o Integrated Development Environment

o Resultspace and other Source Code Control

Data Interchange  Define and parse valid data interchange structures to integrate with back end

services

o XML, JSON, CSV, etc

Standard Project Tools  Produce, re-purpose creative assets using toolsets like Adobe Photoshop /

Illustrator

 Use standard toolsets to develop, validate and test code

o Dreamweaver / notepad ++ / editplus

o Firefox – Developer toolbar / firebug / YSlow / Dynatrace

o IE6, 7, 8 – Developer toolbar, Debug Bar

o W3c Validator / Wave Accessibility Validator

Team Management  Manage small sized team and resolve issues and dependencies in the team

 Track the plan and activities for the team members on a day to day basis.

 Report and tracks issues / next steps to Project Management team

 Function in a Global Delivery Environment.

 Provide technology and implementation expertise to domain, projects or client.

 Maintain leading edge knowledge in emerging technologies

 Participate in knowledge sharing and lessons learnt sessions from project

experiences

 Provide training to peers and clients in relevant technologies

Community/Domain

Practice Support

 Pro-active in community involvement within Sapient and on the web. Proactively

inform the larger community of emerging technologies.

 Advocate and create content for the People Portal as it relates to the Creative

Domain and Interactive Development particularly. Share domain knowledge with

others in the team/ at Sapient

 Participate and/or assist in various company events such as hiring, training and internal initiatives
