Business Analyst
Minneapolis, MN

Responsibility for solution analysis, scope of work definition, and task prioritization for highly visible program building next generation health plan operations platform. Ensures that definition of work to be completed adheres to the intent of the business request, and is delivered in support of the long term business vision for the application. Details of these duties include:
• Operate as key contact to business and operations teams in support of defining application enhancement requests.
• Gather information from project sponsors, application stakeholders and applicable IT subject matter experts to derive solution options and proposed solution approach.
• Documentation of solution approach.
• Coordinate technical and business sponsor reviews, approval of proposed design solution and prioritization of work to be performed.
• Assist with definition of projected effort and cost of work to be performed.
• Dotted line resource to Delivery Leads and System Analysts for assistance on detailed designs.
• Ensure that detailed designs align with original intent of sponsoring business team.
• Research industry trends, and ensure flexibility of solution design to anticipate future needs/challenges.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience of data gathering/analysis
• 4+ years of experience translating Business Requirements into system solutions/design and creating/writing technical specifications
• 4+ years of experience with relational database design/schema
• Previous experience in the following business functions is highly desired: health plan operations, managed care operations, membership and enrollment processing, claim adjudication, capitation, premium accounting, and/or provider contracting.
• Healthcare Industry experience

Assets:

• Previous experience with development of commercial software applications and agile development methodologies is highly desired.
• Previous experience with business process improvement/automation is highly desired.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.
• Ability to design innovative and forward-thinking approaches to solving business problems.
• Data Modelling experience
