Description -

 

Reporting to the Director - Financial Systems Administration, the Finance Functional Business Analyst will provide finance daily operations extended functional support for PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2; perform QA testing, maintain cross and core module configurations; provide troubleshooting; and provide Level 3 Functional Application Support for one or more PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 modules (eProcurement, Procurement, Accounts Payable, e Supplier, eSettlement, Strategic Sourcing, Travel and Expense, Grants, Project Costing, Contracts; Accounts Receivables, Billing, Cash Management, General Ledger Commitment Control or Asset Management).

 

The Finance Functional Analyst will function in a role which is intended to support functional users relative to duties requiring an in depth understanding of PeopleSoft FSCM modules, security, workflow, tree manager, query, business process and change control processes.

 

The Finance Functional Business Analyst will serve as the liaison between Finance business users and the PeopleSoft technical support team in the Office of Information Technology (OIT).

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Responsible for process analysis, design documentation, delivery and support for the software.

• Maintains a partnership with business owner and their staff to help understand their processes.

• Acts as a liaison between the business owner and technical staff

• Maintains cross and core module configuration in assigned PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 modules and serve as back up to other Finance Functional Business Analysts.

• Provide second/third level production support when problems are reported.

• Manage and update Help Desk tickets when escalated to the Finance Functional Business Analyst

• Update the knowledge base in the Help Desk ticketing system when appropriate

• Consult with users within their department on application needs

• Advise Finance on Best Practice business process using PeopleSoft FSCM

• Review enhancement request and provide estimates and impact analysis

• Write and execute Test Scripts to support future projects and upgrades

• Play lead role as PeopleSoft SME in assigned modules during future projects and upgrades

• Work with functional staff to develop and track testing of new software or new processes.

• Help with fit/gap for new products, ERP modules and custom components.

• Test updates to the FMS application; i.e. patches and fixes

• Test application enhancements and new functionality developed by technical support teams

• Provide input data/files for interfaces and support/coordination of interfaces to 3rd party systems with the technical support teams

• Provide input on cross system issues between non Peoplesoft systems for budget, HR and student systems.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements•

 

Bachelor's degree, and some IT related experience or be able to show an affinity for learning to use technology and software packages.

 

• Ability to be a liaison between the functional users and technical support teams.

• Strong experience in business process evaluation and documentation.

• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft office, in particular Microsoft Excel experience to perform advanced pivot table creation, Vlook-ups, macros and charting

• Ability to follow data quality standards, metrics and audit procedures

• Ability to convey technical and business data issues in a clear way

• Experience with implementations, upgrades, projects and production support for PeopleSoft Financial Management System.

• A thorough understanding of PS financial applications, PS Query, PS Security, PS Application Designer, SQL Plus, Business Requirements Analysis, Financial System Support issues and User Acceptance Testing

• Five years overall experience with one or more PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 modules (eProcurement, Procurement, Accounts Payable, e Supplier, eSettlement, Strategic Sourcing, Travel and Expense, Grants, Project Costing, Contracts; Accounts Receivables, Billing, Cash Management, General Ledger Commitment Control or Asset Management) with at least two years in a Production Support capacity.

• Ability to plan and conceptualize and make sound business decisions.

• Ability to exercise considerable independent and professional judgment in matters of significance.

• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations orally and in writing.

• Ability to work independently.
