SAP BOBJ developer

Location: - San Diego, CA
Duration: - 6 Months (strong possibility of extension) 

We just need to stress that the need is for a SAP Business Objects developer who is extremely strong in report development using WEBI going against SAP BW as data source.

Most of the resumes that we are getting are senior resources who stress on overall data warehouse design, tool selection, training etc. and have CXO's as target audience for marketing Business Intelligence. We already have a well-designed data warehouse with data already available and need a developer resource who can work with engineering, finance leads/managers and help report content that is already available.

This role is for a senior BOBJ developer.  The consultant should be strong in BOBJ 4.0 and above.  This is a role with the internal General Atomics team and the consultant will be providing support and working on internal projects. 

The assignment involves building Web Intelligence, OLAP Reports and Dashboards using the Business Objects toolset. The assignment requires technical proficiency in report development using above tools in a BW data modeling architecture.  As part of this project, the Consultant will need to gather requirements and build reports in SAP BW landscape to support reporting metrics.

The consultant should have substantial prior experience in:

- Extremely strong in Business Objects 4.0+ tools; Webi, Design Studio, OLAP

- Strong experience with SAP BW (preferably 7.3+)

- SAP BW data modeling and BEx Query Designer

- Business Objects change management using Life Cycle Manager

- Business Objects development tools; Universe Builder and components including Live Office, BICS and Query as a Web Service

- Testing Business Objects solutions and knowledge of using testing solutions

- Desirable experience in A&D industry with SAP

- Experience with BW on HANA preferred but not required

The consultant must have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.  They must also be able to work flexible hours if required to meet project timeline schedules.

Consultant Responsibilities:

The consultant will directly report to the Business Analytics Solutions Architect and be expected to provide:

- Thorough documentation of technical requirements on all work performed

- Knowledge Transfer sessions/documentation with BI Team

- Testing Plans for user validations

- Work closely with the BI Team to identify and mitigate risks and resolve issues

Background:

General Atomics is currently on ECC 6.5, BW 7.3, SAP HANA, and BI 4.0. It has implemented the following SAP modules:  MM, SD, FI, CO, PS, HR, Payroll, CATS, PP, QM, DM, and WM modules.
