HHSC is in the process of converting existing websites to a Drupal Web Content Management System. This is a complex effort transforming content from more than 5 existing HHSC managed websites with an aggressive timeline for completion of 08/31/2016. We are looking for a Drupal Web-Developer with strong front-end and back-end development skills. This position requires a combination of programming skills (PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, etc.) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). Experience with responsive design is strongly preferred. In addition, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, theming, development and deployment, with extensive back-end knowledge, is preferred.

This Contractor will be responsible for designing and implementing new features and functionality, establishing and guiding the website's architecture, ensuring high-performance and availability, and working with our support vendor to manage all technical aspects of the Drupal CMS. They will work closely with HHSC front-end developers and customers to ensure an effective conversion of existing and new content.

Candidate should have the following skills and abilities:

·         Experience developing web solutions in a Drupal multi-site environment

·         Ability to architect enterprise Drupal solutions including data, display, and information architecture

·         Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with a wide range of Drupal modules

·         Knowledge of PHP, PHP files and theme functions, and knowledge of the Drupal theme layer.

·         Experience creating custom Drupal modules and themes.

·         Experience with Drupal functions and APIs

·         Experience building responsive websites using Drupal CMS, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery

·         Through understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs.

·         Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications

·         Ability to write JavaScript with and without the use of frameworks such as jQuery

·         Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.

·         Ability to understand CSS changes to have consistent style across platforms and browsers

·         Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into a working Drupal Theme

·         Assists with some project management work, identifying risks and issues, planning and leading projects at various stages of completion.

·         Communicates and coordinates with HHSC development staff, business customers, project stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties.
