Senior Infrastructure Engineer
BLUECROSS GROUP HOSP, District of Columbia

Infrastructure Engineer to support the Environment Management initiatives for several SOWs in 2015 and 2016 in WDC.

The client has several initiatives that requires enhancements to the Test and Production environment infrastructure to support the DME project. The client is looking for the candidate capable to work from day one to serve as a Lead and Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) able to analyze, develop and implement an infrastructure strategy for existing Test environments for midrange and mainframe platforms. These environments comprise of Unit, Integration, Systems, and Acceptance Test.

Tasks:

Lead and provide technical direction and expertice to a project team.
Provide daily technical support for the renovation of the existing environments.
Analyze and recommend improvements to support Environment Management and Configuration Management process initiatives.
Provide Production Environment and Infrastructure support for the Project.
Support FTE SMEs in maintaining current (Test/Production) environments and infrastructure.
Create all necessary documents and communicate to the team in support of the project.
Provide pre and post implementation support for Test and Production environments.
Conduct training and knowledge transfer on new environments with FTEs.

Competencies:

1. Solid leadership and technical experience
2. Good project management and ability to provide technical guidance to a team
3. The internal drive, intellectual curiosity, ability to learn, and desire to help the customers succeed
4. Strong technical skills
5. Comfortable working under Project Manager supervision
6. Ability to work proactively

Infrastructure engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience with:

a. Experience building robust test environments
b. Environment Infrastructure Build and Automation
c. Scripting and Automation experience
d. Build and Deployment experience
e. Extensive DB2 Database experience
f. Extensive SDLC experience
g. Ability to analyze and trouble-shoot Mid-tier/Mainframe infrastructure issues.

Mid-tier/mainframe platforms and their associated Operation Systems and Tools including:

a) WebSphere
b) MQ Series
c) Java/J2EE
d) DB2 UDB
e) Strong UNIX/scripting
f) AIX
