Healthcare Data Business Analyst

 

Looking for a healthcare data business analyst (HDBA) is responsible for working with the business owners to identify data and information requirements, develop/integrate data models and conduct analysis and reports. The role will work with developers to ensure programming will achieve business requirements. A key role is interpreting and understanding analysis and sharing knowledge found and expertise with others. The HDBA should have strong knowledge and experience with health insurance data and the ability to extract, integrate, link and analyze this data. The HDBA is also responsible for creating reports based on disease and treatment trends, quality of care, expenses and income.

 

Responsibilities:

• Identify and document total data needs for strategic enterprise programs: We will work closely with business stakeholders, portfolio project teams, and application SMEs to identify and document the total data needs of strategic programs for Enterprise Data Management processes

• Develop business use cases, business and data requirements, and related documentation in support of Enterprise Data Management: We will work closely with business owners and stakeholders at multiple levels in the organization to understand, prioritize, synthesize, and document data needs for enterprise programs and MDM assets.

• Understand and inventory the business processes and business decisions which are enabled by EDM: We will work with business owners at multiple levels in the organization to understand, prioritize, and document the inventory of business capabilities, business processes, and business decisions that are to be enabled by Enterprise Data Management.

• Provide data expertise: We will partner with application SMEs to gain a deep understanding of source data as well as transformation, cleansing, or aggregation rules that impact MDM.

• Acts as the liaison between business owners and IT: In addition to the partnership with business owners, we will also partner with other roles including Architects, Designers, Developers, and Testers to ensure enterprise data needs are met. Works closely with systems analysts to ensure functional specifications are properly accounting for business needs. Facilitates meetings, as necessary, to review captured business needs and obtain approvals.

• Transfers knowledge to production support team and matrix partners -- provides documentation that can be referenced for cross-training and issue resolution.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

• 5+ years related experience with healthcare and insurance data.

• Bachelor's degree in health informatics, computer science, statistics or mathematics.

• Ability to analyze data from a health perspective.

• Knowledge of healthcare business.

• Understand what data is needed to address a business question and how to analyze it and interpret results.

• Strong experience with identifying data and information requirements for business intelligence and analytics.

• Ability to write basic SQL and knowledge of relational databases.

• Proficient in the use of computers and programs that specialize in data collection and data management

• Proven ability to extract/source data from multiple data sources and integrate them into a single source view/report/dataset

• Demonstrate acumen in data profiling and data modeling

• Ability to communicate with business users and translate business requirements

• Ability to dissect and learn applications and database solutions

• Ability to work independently on projects with minimal direction

• Strong interpersonal skills and effective team player

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• At least five (5) years of Business Intelligence Management or related BI service delivery experience

• Decent understanding of Business Intelligence related Data Profiling, Reporting Tools, Visualization, Analytics, Dashboards, and Predictive Analysis through tools and technologies Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems

• Experience in delivering self-service BI solutions that promote data discovery

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

Sr. Healthcare Analytics SME

Looking for a Senior Healthcare Analytics Subject Matter Expert (Senior HA SME) is responsible for consulting with business owners, data analysts and healthcare analytics SMEs to develop strategies for business intelligence and analytics solutions for health insurance. Strategies to integrate internal and external data sources, together with reporting tools to present business metrics consumable by internal and external stakeholders. The Senior HA SME will be a strategic asset with experience in all aspects of healthcare business intelligence including health insurance data, analytic methods, and tools for reporting.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

• 10+ years' experience analyzing healthcare insurance data.

• 5+ years' experience designing and testing solutions for healthcare business intelligence and analytics.

• Bachelor's degree in health informatics, computer science, statistics or mathematics; a graduate degree in health informatics, health administration or analytics preferred.

• Knowledge and experience using analytic tools and solutions; specific experience with Tableau and Looker.

• Experience designing and testing prototype analytic and reporting solutions.

• Ability to analyze data from a health perspective and create reports on disease and treatment trends, quality of care, expenses and income.

• Knowledge of healthcare business.
