Axway API Gateway Engineer Job Description:
This role is responsible for operational support and administration of the Axway API Gateways, and web services access control environment. Additionally, this person is responsible for working with the data integration and application teams to understand their business requirements and provide operational and project support.
Job Description:-
· Configure and manage day-to-day operations of the enterprise Axway API Gateway systems
· Monitor the gateway performance and troubleshoot issues with application teams
· Problem isolation and resolution, with expectation that continuous improvement and enhancements are implemented
· Upgrade the system website and self-service tools as needed
· Deploy and upgrade the Axway API Gateway as needed
· Perform system planning, installation and upgrades across our multi-region environment
· Work with external 3rd parties to integrate their web services with the gateway
· Work directly with client and application teams to provide gateway services support
· Enforce gateway security policies
· Aid and educate web service developers on use of authentication mechanisms and use of xml gateway
· Occasional off-hours support required
Mandatory skills
Axway Gateway experience
Demonstrated experience with web service security including digital certificates (client and server), mutual-authentication, API Axway, SSL, WS-*Expertise in XML, XSL, WSDL, SOAP, REST, JSON, HTML, JavaScript
Experience implementing and troubleshooting SSL, LDAP, SSO
Proficient in scripting Java, Perl, Shell
Experience with common Unix/Linux utilities, diagnostics, and monitoring tools
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written, for technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent analytical and documentation skills
Quick learning and adaptive to new technical fields
Experience with system configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance
Experience in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts and Web Services
· Linux OS expertise
Good to have skills
Network understanding and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)
Experience with code repositories (e.g. SVN, Git)
Knowledge of caching and load-balancing
Working knowledge of LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory)
Working knowledge of web/app server technologies (Apache, Tomcat
Experience in supporting systems/applications in a regulated environment
Experience partnering with external IT service providers
Technical skills required to triage issues across multiple tiers and diverse technologies
An understanding of ITIL concepts
