Sr. Windows Engineer

Location: Omaha, NE or Austin, TX

 

Client Engineering provides Global Enterprise Services to End User Environment for technologies such as Patch Management, Operating System Deployments, Software Deployments, Encryption, User Backups, Support of Desktop/laptop Security tools, Application and Operating System Migrations. Primary Job Responsibilities: Investigate and evaluate new vendor hardware for corporate desktops and laptops. Create and maintain appropriate desktop images for multiple groups of internal customers across the globe Engage in desktop engineering activities to automate and simplify processes in order to improve knowledge worker, developer and customer support staffs' user experience Provide engineering support and technical expertise regarding integration of new and existing Desktop technologies. Ensure the development and documentation of operational procedures Interface with internal customers, vendors and internal IT management to translate observed needs in to solutions Maintain a secure desktop environment leveraging top rated industry security products and implement best practice security measures to protect valuable corporate IP.

Job Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of current and emerging versions of Microsoft Windows Operating systems including Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 and with a focus on Windows Desktop/Laptop operating systems
• Expert knowledge of desktop/laptop hardware configurations, driver management, and troubleshooting.
• At least 4 years of advanced experience configuring computers powered by Windows Operating systems in global enterprise environments
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft OSD or other Enterprise OS imaging technologies (MDT, Altiris, Casper)
• At least 2 years of experience writing Windows scripts using VBScript and/or PowerShell. (Experience writing code in any object oriented language is a nice to have but not a mandatory requirement)
• Ability to leverage SCCM to manage a Windows environment from deployment through End of life
• Proficiency in writing scripts to help retrofit, automate, tweak, administer or secure a Windows desktop environment
• Leverage SCCM to deploy software, security updates and patches
• Proof of having played a leading or major supporting role in migrating from one major OS version to a more recent version
• Proof of success in deploying and managing DLP, Anti-virus, encryption and other security applications to end user laptops and desktops
• Experience administering Macs or Casper/JAMF suite in a corporate environment a plus.
• Experience working in a global company. Prior Fortune 500 company or Financial institution experience a plus
• Experience working on multiple projects and comfort meeting aggressive deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Excellent skills in written/oral communications

• Minimum 2 year degree in Information Technology field required, 4 year degree is a plus.

MCP or MCSE certifications in Windows client or server OS preferred but not required
