Job Description:
Required Skills - 6+ years expertise in Python - 4 years' experience with event-driven or async frameworks
- Experience in delivering service-based products, deployed to large user bases - Prior experience in Test Driven Development, Paired Programming methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, etc.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills and experience
- Experience with Twisted/asynchronous programming and/or parallelizing code - Existing OpenStack contributor status a bonus
- Experience with numpy, Hadoop, storm, spark, or machine learning is a bonus - Energetically discuss and debate technical opinions in a group setting
- Maintain a collaborative working relationship with others by seeking, using and giving feedback
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience writing unit / functional / integration tests
- Experience developing on a Unix/Linux platform
- Continuous development and deployment experience
- Experience working with SQL based databases
Must have Skills:
(1) Had experience in using natural language processing and text mining/ML packages (such as gensim for topic modeling, NLTK, scikitlearn packages for classifier building etc.)
(2) Familiar with writing the codes to optimize performance/speed
Responsibilities include:
- Translating functional requirements into conceptual and detailed design - Providing estimates for development effort
- Implementing proof of concept, prototypes, and frameworks
- Creating unit and acceptance tests
- Coordinating sign-off from QA/Test
- Working with Operations and Support staff to troubleshoot software issues as well as implementing bug fixes
