Job Description

The Hadoop Administrator is responsible for administration of the Hadoop infrastructure. Responsibilities include Hadoop administration, suggesting deployment architecture, integration, and support. Providing guidance to other admins and provide inputs to improve performance of the environment on continuous basis. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for setting up new and managing the existing Hadoop clusters on Hortonworks. 
• Setting up environment for applications and deploying them.
• Security setup
• Infrastructure and job monitoring
• Upgrade the versions of the components
• Performance Tuning 
• Perform sizing and capacity planning

Required Skills:
• At least 3+ years of experience in Hadoop administration
• Experience in Horton Works Hadoop Distribution 
• Should be well versed with Ambari, KNOX, Ranger
• Implementation experience in security (Authentication and Authorization). 
• Implementation experience in setting and configuring Backup and Recovery Procedure on Hadoop
• Implementation experience in setting and configuring Disaster Recovery Procedures 
• Implementation experience in developing tools/scripts to monitor the Hadoop Cluster
• Implementation experience in configuration and tuning of various components like YARN, HBase, Spark, Kafka etc
• Implementation experience in tools like Nagios/Ganglia monitoring tools
• Should have experience managing and supporting Hadoop Production Cluster.
