Description:

• Under the general direction of management and senior staff, the data security Analyst performs monitoring, assessment, analysis and research on Intrusion Detection and Prevention tools.
• Monitor database activity alerting and notifications and following up on critical issues including opening incident tickets
• Maintain database security and integrity by ensuring no unauthorized configuration changes to data, schemas and databases
• Execute daily adhoc tasks ie health check of IDS tools and reporting
• Create and maintenance incident reports for key performance indicators including weekly/monthly metrics
• Perform initial risk assessment on new threats and vulnerabilities
• Perform assessment phase of Vulnerability & Threat Management process
• Perform assessment as well as troubleshooting and help isolate issues
• Provide operational oversight of users and privileged users by reviewing and enforcing security and bank standards
• Follow pre-defined actions to handle issues based on severity including escalating to other support groups

Minimum Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired
• 4 - 5 years of practical experience within the technology & security enviroment Security or technology industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, SANS, CompTIA, or similar)
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills
• Basic understanding of database technology
• Basic understanding of database security
• Technical background, with understanding of concepts of confidentiality, integrity and availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, user authentication and authorization
• Basic understanding of operating system and network security
• Ability to weigh business needs against security concerns and articulate issues to the user community
• Ability to identify and analyze significant problems and opportunities
• Demonstrated ability to consistently display accuracy and attention to detail
• Effectively performs duties and responsibilities with attention to detail and support for organizational policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Well-developed and proven technical expertise in database technology (especially Oracle), security, networking, and operating systems
• Familiar with database activity monitoring tools such as Imperva SecureSphere or database firewall tools
• Proven ability to provide support to enterprise information security practice
• Well-developed and proven analytical skills with ability to relate to technical & non-technical personnel
• Proven ability to develop and implement policy and standards
• Ability to identify and analyze significant problems and opportunities
• Demonstrated ability to consistently display accuracy and attention to detail
• Effectively performs duties and responsibilities with attention to detail and support for organizational policies;
• Demonstrated ability to understand and adhere to regulatory requirements such as SOX and PCI
