Role: Hadoop Technical Sales with POCS

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Duration: Long Term

Contract

Responsibilities

·         Manage the effective designing, deployment and development of DataTorrent technology with customers based on their big data solution requirements;

·         Lead customer engagements and solutions architecture for customers;

·         Work closely with sales engineering and Sales teams in pre sales opportunities;

·         Lead the development of native applications, products in Hadoop;

·         Lead POCs and Pilots projects with customers;

·         Help customers resolve production issues by interfacing with the DT internal development;

·         Develop operators, and applications in open sourced Malhar project as per customer requirements;

·         Work within Hadoop eco-system to enable DataTorrent RTS;

·         Provide technical support and training to customers as they ramp up;

·         Participate in the onboarding and mentoring of other consultants.

Background and Skill Sets

·         Passionate about building world leading technologies that disrupt huge eco-systems;

·         Desire to build foundational technologies that define a new eco-system;

·         BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree is a must;

·         At least 8 years of relevant industry experience working as a solutions architect/ solutions engineer in a customer facing role;

·         Expert coding skills in Java or C++;

·         Experience with architecting and developing distributed and highly scalable fault tolerant systems;

·         Deep knowledge of various big data technologies;

·         Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms;

·         Experience with some of Linux, MySQL, Oracle, Berkeley DB, Hadoop MapReduce/Pig/Hive, HBase, HDFS, SVN/CVS source control systems is strong plus;

·         Strong experience in one of Perl, Python, Unix Shell is a plus;

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.
