Job Requirements
· Migration of SQL 2000 and 2005 Database to SQL 2008/2012
· Troubleshooting SQL Migration issues
· Root Cause analysis of SQL related migration error and issues.
· Analyzing available or random facts from various sources related to
· database structure and application to develop a solution that
· addresses problems or performance improvements.
· Tracking and understanding all production and testing environments
· for their clients' data, structure, volumes, disk allocation, and
· performance.
· Predicting system performance and understanding impacts of
· databases, applications, network and Operating System (O/S) layers.
· Bridging gaps between the architecture or a solution design and the
· database applications relationships, which may be described only at a
· high level.
· Understanding data modeling techniques, the application solution,
· and data retrieval requirements in order to create the best physical
· database solution.
· Keeping up with database industry standards, products, trends and
· solutions to provide sufficient background and problem descriptions in
· order to perform an efficient investigation to resolve problems or
· issues.
Qualifications:
· Must have 7 years of MSSQL Server experience
· Must have 7 years of experience with Management Studio
· development tool
· Must have 7 years of Database Project Implementation experience
· Strong experience and knowledge of high availability
· strategies (SQL Server install/configuration on Windows Cluster,
· Database replication) and disaster/recovery strategies
· Proficient with SQL 2000/2005/2008/2012
· Proficient with SQL DB migrations from SQL 2000/20005
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
· Must have Bachelors or equivalent degree in Computer
· Science, Engineering, or related field
Job Overview:
As a SQL Server DBA, L2 Database Services you will be responsible for
databases on specific database technologies; design and
implement back-up, recovery, archiving and conversion strategies.
Migration of SQL 2000 and 2005 Database to SQL 2008 and SQL 2012. Troubleshoot and provide root cause analysis for SQL migration project.
Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to leading and/or
provide subject matter expertise in production and non-production
databases for data migrations, maintain and ensure consistency and
integration with existing database infrastructure, manage database
distribution, configuration, security and access requirements.
Design and develop physical databases, lead and/or perform testing,
reporting, capacity planning, performance tuning, back-up and restores
and provide leadership and technical expertise to on-going problem
identification / resolution and root cause analysis process for
database environments.
