I am looking for a strong, self-driven, collaborative software engineer/SDE with proven experience creating a full website ecosystem and who can help drive the formation of the worldwide Windows Community online presence. As a Windows Community developer, you will be responsible for architecting the full stack from front-end website through to determining the best hosting solutions and data storage, and using existing solutions when possible.  This includes developing an interactive website for our 1.6 billion Windows users that can easily host various content types from text articles and blogs, to videos, pictures, podcasts, and forums.  You'll work closely with our program managers and dev teams across WDG and Fundamentals to provide features that encourage and enable the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with designers to architect a dynamic website that is intuitive to use, handles various content types, able to include new web pages and extend the site easily

• Co-develop interactive web components for the Windows Community with a focus on navigation, discoverability, and a UI enabled for all mobile devices

• Test overall website with a focus on reliability, availability, performance, and usefulness

• Partner with teams across MS to reuse existing tools, frameworks, and ideas including partnering with other Insider programs, rewards programs, and fan community programs across MS

• Collaborate with the WDG Engineering teams, specifically the Feedback Hub team and Flight Services team, along with the Windows.com team to create features that meet the needs of a scalable Windows Community program

• Accountable for managing dev tasks in TFS/VSO and code in GIT during sprints

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience using the following technologies:

o C# / .NET (Very familiar)

o ASP.NET/MVC & Web-API

o JavaScript / HTML5

o Angular or similar JavaScript frameworks

• Experience with authentication methods and Azure technologies like cloud services/service fabric and Azure SQL

• Prior experience with MICROSOFT projects and working knowledge of MS tools like Visual studio, Git, etc.

• Experience architecting high-performing, cross-browser web solutions

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent problem solving skills and a high degree of intellectual horsepower

• BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

• Qualified candidates should have 8+ years of software engineering and hands-on programming experience

• Proven experience delivering high quality software services and product with hands-on experience in the engineering discipline
