Description:

We are looking for a talented, hardworking, self-motivated candidate to join our User Experience Design team members within our Solutions Delivery group. This team is responsible for serving various agenciesand is involved in architecting and building new technical solutions for many of our legacy platforms. Also, several websites are managed by the front end development team.

This position will result in broad experience in Graphic Design and/or Front End Development (HTML, CSS, Wordpress, and Javascript.)

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Anticipates the impact that designs will have on applications and systems.
Works as part of the design team in designing, establishing and assisting Wordpress website builds.
May participate in gathering requirements alongside Business Analysts.
Work with the development team to identify problems or potential problem areas and recommend solutions.
Works with the development team to recommend user level computer system enhancements to better meet customer needs.
Builds and maintains Wordpress based websites communicating Agency branding and information to the public.

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of Design, Web, and Front End development is preferred. As an augmentation of the User Experience Design Team you will become adept with the following:
Web:
- strong skills in HTML/CSS
- skilled in responsive design utilizing CSS media queries
- knowledge of accessibility requirements for visually challenged users
- fir m understanding of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) in improving user experience & usability
- understands browser compatibility strategies in relation to CSS and HTML (CSS3 and HTML5)
- ability to use Wordpress as a content management system
 

Design:
- understanding of graphical web design principles, typography, composition, and iconography
- drive and passion to improving user experience & usability of complex problems
- reduce complexity and convert intimidating interfaces and workflows into mainstream experiences
- ability to accept feedback from colleagues in an iterative design process and produce polished work under tight timelines
- strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- contribute to the creative spirit of the User Experience Design team
- strong computer skills and a demonstrate
 

Front End Development:
- strong skills in Javascript
- knowledge of JavaScript Frameworks (jQuery)
- translate visual and written designs into efficient front end components
- establish and implement best practices and standards for all front end visuals
- research and recommend new technology to enhance user experience
- competent using version control systems such as subversion or git
