Role: Sr. OBIEE Admin/Developer

Duration: 6-12 months

Location: Chicago, IL

Consultant will build / manage all the OBIEE (10G and 11G) environments ranging from development thru the various stages of testing to production.  Additional responsibilities consist of the following: Support the production environments, assist the project teams and manage migrations across all environments.

 

***Consultant will be doing 90% admin/10% development: working on subject area setup, security needs, any environment issues and all migrations***

 

-Not a Multi User Development (MUD) environment yet but experience would be a plus because this is a future project

 

Duties and responsibilities:

·         Responsible for OBIEE Administration, Security, and Repository Maintenance

·         Maintain documentation on system environments

·         Setup environments for new projects with subject areas, folders, security and AD groups within the OBIEE environments

·         Review the migration request from the various project teams and perform the migrations of the object across the environments.

·         Patch production system following normal SDLC and Change management procedures  

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

·         Effective verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical people

·         Strong technical knowledge of OBIEE admin/metadata tools, security,

·         Experience installing and configuring OBIEE 10g and 11g

·         Experience in OBIEE security setup and configuration for 10g and 11g

·         Experience in performance tuning in OBIEE and gathering performance metrics for various measures in reports.

·         Experience with OBIEE admin tool, web catalog and rpd.

·         Experience in migration techniques for OBIEE components into various test and production environments.

·         Understanding of a DMZ environment to support the external customer facing system

·         Experience in troubleshooting issues on server and presentation side.

·         Knowledge of standard system development lifecycle concepts

·         Ability to gather, understand and document reporting requirements 

·         Multi User development, Configuration, Component and Release Management

·         Familiarity with TOAD or similar tool, CTL-M or other automated scheduling package, Perl.

·         Essbase experience a plus.

·         Informatica Migration for OBIA
