JOB TITLE: C# Developer with TFS
LOCATION: Brewster, NY
VERY IMPORTANT MUST BE ABLE TO WRITE INSTALLERS
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our client is looking for a software engineer to take our release processes, code management and our internal tools to the next level. Successful candidates will have strong background in object-oriented programming, and scripting as well as having excellent communication skills. This role will work with a broad range of engineering teams to upgrade and develop a common platform and improve engineering efficiency across the board.
The candidate will be responsible for assisting with regular release and build exercises as well as improving these processes. Responsibilities will also include improving automated testing, monitoring testing results and tracking local quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain source code base using TFS and related tools
• Collaborate with QA and Development managers on timing and content of builds, releases, and patches
• Be local expert on TFS and Visual Studio
• Develop tools and installation-related product components as needed
• Research and recommend improvements in procedures and tools
REQUIREMENTS:
• Technical proficiency in Visual Studio 2010 and Team Foundation Server 2010
• Experience with principles of build/release management and source code control
• Working knowledge of Windows Installer technology
• Familiarity with build tools
• Significant knowledge of the Windows operating system; good familiarity with Linux and UNIX is also desirable.
• Programming experience in a modern compiled language is a must; C# is preferable
• Working familiarity with relational database principles and SQL
• Knowledge of fundamental software engineering principles
• Effective written and oral communication skills, particularly for communicating and teaching technical topics
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience working in a software engineering organization
