Duration:-6+ months

1. BASIC PURPOSE
Serve as a liaison among project stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. The business analyst must understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable the business to achieve its goals.
2. NATURE and SCORE/PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Identifying and planning requirements activities that will be performed on each project and how they will be performed.
• Identification and documentation of stakeholders.
• Identification of tasks and communication tools that will most effectively provide needed requirements deliverables.
• Elicitation of project requirements, using techniques such as: brainstorming, document analysis, focus groups, interface analysis, interviews, observation, prototyping, requirements workshops, and surveys/questionnaires.
• Requirements analysis and validation.
• Documentation of requirements in order to facilitate a common understanding of the requirements among all of the stakeholders.
• Communication of requirements, to include: creating requirements communication plans, managing requirements conflicts, creating requirements packages, conducting requirements presentations and formal reviews, and obtaining signoff.
• Facilitate requirements change management for assigned projects.
• Assist in the listing and selection of alternate solutions, including packaged software.
• Assist with user training, documentation, and testing as needed.
• Serve as a mentor to junior business analyst staff
• May provide input into performance appraisals, budget preparation and new hire interviewing
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain and enhance technical skills, leadership skills, business knowledge, and knowledge of IS products and procedures
3. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, EXPERIENCE and MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
Required
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in either a business related or technical field.
• Minimum five years in a systems development or business related environment.
• Project or team leadership experience
• Prior experience with financial business applications.
• Writing skills to communicate information effectively to customers and technical staff.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proven abilities in facilitation, elicitation and interviewing.
• Interpersonal skills, to help negotiate priorities and resolve conflict among the requirements stakeholders.
• Experience using RUP work products to document requirements, including: Vision, Use Case Model, Use Case Specification, Supplementary Specification, Storyboard, Glossary, and Requirements Management Plan.
• Understanding of commonly used techniques to elicit requirements, along with the ability to select the appropriate techniques for a given situation.
• Ability to assemble, analyze and evaluate facts and data.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
