Statement: Provide baseline support to Procurement - drafting and negotiating contracts

Skills: Draft, negotiate and administer contracts for the acquisition of services on behalf of the corporation. Issue, direct and oversee RFP/RFI processes including establishing requirements/specifications, perform pre-qualification, conduct bid conferences, evaluate proposals, create bid analyses, negotiate and draft agreements. In addition, assess and mitigate contract risk during all phases of contract actions (issuance, award, administration, etc.) with business areas, through consultation with cross-functional areas such as Legal, InfoSec, Compliance, and Vendor Risk Management. Interpret, monitor, and enforce corporate procurement policies. Conduct formal and informal training and guidance to business areas on procurement issues, with a focus on facilitating robust statements of work or requirements/specifications and contract administration. Engage Supplier Diversity unit to identify and source diverse suppliers to secure the best quality service at the best net price. Proactively manage daily business interface with key internal business areas and as needed, external suppliers to ensure requirements are met and risk is mitigated through compliance with a consistent and standardized process. Negotiate and modify, as needed, moderate-to-high risk contracts that substantially deviate from standard terms and conditions.
Job requires a Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired; 10 years experience in the acquisition of a wide range of services and products including IT with a minimum of 5-7 years of direct experience in contracting and negotiating with executive-level representatives and their respective legal counsels. Must possess a solid understanding of contract terms and conditions including indemnity, limitation of liability, confidentiality and IP rights. Must be able to translate business and legal requirements into sound, legally-sufficient agreements that mitigate risk using various templates supplied by, and periodically updated by legal counsel and consult with legal counsel directly as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft software packages is required. Must possess ability to work independently and as part of a team. Candidate must possess excellent verbal, written communications and presentation skills.
Comments: Working knowledge of PeopleSoft or equivalent is a plus.
Ability to collaborate and build rapport are highly desired.
