ETL Project Manager with DataStage

Brooklyn, NY

Requirement:

 

Under the direction of the Chief Data Architect, serves as ETL Project Manager/Lead with senior IBM DataStage expertise.   Will lead the architecture, ETL solution, and ETL developers.  

 

The resource will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Manage ETL developers in full SDLC development of a Data Warehouse implementation.

·         Possess very detail understanding of the architecture of the DataStage ETL solution

·         Manage resource allocation, project timelines, and project deliverables

·         Ensure that standards and best practices for the IBM DataStage are used

·         Lead technical and solution review sessions with various teams (ETL and DB)

 

Minimum Core Competencies:

• Have 8+ years of continuous experience leading a DataStage ETL team. 
• Have recent senior level experience of DataStage ETL Architecture (minimum version 8.x) and design.
• Certified DataStage professional a plus.
• Senior Level experience with data analysis, data integration, and database design and development.
• Experience with developing and implementing data warehousing solutions.
• Expert knowledge of ETL concepts and the ability to translate the concepts to a workable DataStage ETL solution.
• The ability to successfully collaborate with application, data architecture, security, data quality, business, and data owner teams. 
• The ability to translate business requirements from across the Department of Education into technical DataStage ETL project and data warehousing requirements.
• Able to review and provide feedback on current DataStage ETL architecture processes, policies, and vision.

 

Requirements

 

Skills:

·            Very strong technical knowledge of IBM DataStage ETL version 8+

·            Technical leadership of DataStage ETL teams of 10 – 15 members as a manager/lead

·            Project planning and coordination of many DataStage projects at once.

·            Adherence to DataStage ETL Architecture Standards

·            Very good communications and management skills

·            Experience in the Education space a plus.

·            Expertise includes delivery of real time and near real time DataStage ETL solutions.

 

Experience:

• 8+ years of continuous accomplishments in ETL development and leading a DataStage ETL team.  

 

·         Previous experience in the software development field or in a technical environment is preferred.
