DETAILS:
Position: SAS EBI-DI-GRID Consultant
Location: Off-Site (remote) –or— On-Site in Atlanta, GA.
Duration: 3+ months (Possible extension)
Interview: Telephonic
Background:
The Customer is looking for an EBI "customer service" type resource to provide assistance to approximately 300-400 end users. Support responsibilities include, but are not limited to, problem determination, best practices, and transitioning from PC SAS to thin client/server. This consultant will interface with end-users across all lines of business and may work directly with imbedded SAS Administrators in furtherance of best practices and code optimization and automation. The current environment is HP-UX with a mix of PC SAS, Enterprise Guide, Enterprise Miner, as well as z/OS. Data sources include a variety of formats including DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, MS Access, MS Excel, as well as ASCII and EBCDIC.
The successful candidate must work effectively across a wide range of end-user expertise and experience which will require patience and efficacious communication skills. Primary focus will be in providing assistance necessary to successfully transition the end-user work product and processes from the HP-UX mixed style work environment to the Red Hat Linux SAS Grid enabled environment. This would include, but would not be limited to, migrating code, data, making relevant changes, teaching new skill sets, best practices, etc.
The Consultant must have quite clear English speaking skills.
Specific Technical Requirements:

- Experience with DI Studio
- Enterprise Miner
- Experience troubleshooting problems no
- Experience using the product with an understanding how Enterprise Miner works. (No model building is necessary, however.)
- Experience with Access to DB2
- Experience with SQL Server and Access to ODBC
- Experience with HP-UX
- Experience with GRID
- Experience with SAS Administration solely from the perspective of best practices and guidance
General Technical Skill sets:
- Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of production issues
- Assisting in development/maintenance of process automation
- Superior customer service skills
- Familiarity with Unix shell scripting and SAS Macro facility
- Ability to multi-task and address complex support issues in a mixed technology environment
