DETAILS:
Position: Sr. Oracle Developer
Location: San Diego, CA
Duration: Long term
Interview: Phone and will hire form Skype
The ideal candidate is a self-starter that has experience in designing, developing and delivering necessary database work to support the platform projects. Further, they will thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team where they must quickly adapt/expand to meet the needs of SOE's dynamic game publishing/production business model.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and deliver extensible/sustainable database solutions based on defined business needs.
- Demonstrate basic understanding of data modeling, schema design, performance tuning and ETL processes that support those models.
- Proactively identify and act on opportunities to improve database systems and processes.
- Succeed in a team environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Atleast five years of Oracle RDBMS experience, including modeling data, creating simple and complex schemas, as well as performing administrative tasks including performance tuning, and troubleshooting in a UNIX environment.
- Extensive experience with Oracle SQL and relational databases, including writing complex SQL and PL/SQL to create and validate data, as well as SQL tuning experience to improve query performance.
- Solid understanding of the Database development lifecycle, including data modeling, dimensional and relational modeling, requirements analysis, schema design, and stored procedure creation and delivery.
- Support internal customers such as engineers/ BI team/stakeholders/end users in a production Oracle environment.
- Experience with other RDBMS such as Postgres or EBD is preferable.
- Working experience with Unix shell scripting a must (Perl scripting a plus)
- Solid communications and documentation skills
- Source/version control throughout development process
- Willing to perform rotational on-call production support of the Database system
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields
