Job Title: SAP MDG - Functional SME

Location: Houston, TX.

Length: 1 Year – 18 months

Rate: DOE

Primary Job Functions:
Transition of business requirements to detailed system design documentation for the implementation of MDG for both material master and service master.
Configure MDG in accordance to the detailed design documents and business requirements.
Work closely with business resources to validate and confirm design and build requirements.
Validate technical design documentation and perform Unit testing of development.
Assist with test case development and implementation for both integration and user readiness testing.
Assist with training of end user and support groups.

Technical Skills
SAP knowledge & tools specifically
MDG 6.0 and above
ECC 6.0
Data Services & Info Steward experience

Industry Background
3 - 5 yrs. in process industry (Oil & Gas or Chemical) or (less preferred) consumer product industry.
Experience in working in big organization, which includes the application of extended review and stewardship procedures.
Ability to deliver in cross-functional areas (functionality impacting various modules concurrently).
SAP MDG area with 2 yrs. experience covering some or all of the below areas:
Material Master experience.
MDG as a stand-alone Hub.
Interfacing with multiple ERPs.
Usage of workflows for requests review and approval.
Configuration of new service Master domain.
Configuration experience with BRFPlus.
Netweaver Business Client.
Integration with Info Steward and Data Steward.

Other Skills Required
Ability to support business process redesign.
Strong ability to collect business requirements, perform a fit/gap analysis and apply SAP industry best practices.
Ability to define and describe scope, requirements and use cases for SAP MDG implementations.
Ability to write solid and detailed functional and technical design documents in English, to be handed over to developers or other project staff, covering design for configuration items and custom developments.  Also, be able to write test scenarios, end-user work instructions and unit and integrated test plans.
Experience in applying structured SAP implementation methodology.
Ability to lead gap assessment workshops sessions globally.  Able to balance local versus global perspective, perform synthesis of gathered information and propose effective and workable global process solution.
Work with business experts to understand their requirements, guide and advise them on best solution approach.  Manage business experts with confidence.
Ability to prototype, review prototype with business resources, and recycle prototyped solution based on feedback as an on-going process.
Experience in conducting system tests, creating test cases, documenting results, preferably with working knowledge of HPQC (Quality Center).
Ability to configure the MDG module.

English fluency (spoken and written).
Ability to handle multiple issues/tasks simultaneously with changing priorities.
Ability to work effectively in an integrated fashion across multiple teams, in a environment with broad cultural diversity and across different time zones.
Ability to work effectively in virtual environments, utilizing audio conference and online collaboration tools.
Need to be able to prioritize and work with various resources (project internal & external) to get issues resolved.
Ability to communicate work progress across the project.
Ability to conduct requirement gathering and solution design verification interviews.
Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-IT audience (such as business subject matter experts).
Presentation and system demonstration skills.
Ability to work well with others.
