Senior Java PL/SQL Developer

Location: Dallas,TX

6 months open-ended contract

Pay Rate: $60/hr on c2c

Interview: Phone followed by in-person

The qualified candidate will have the following responsibilities:

The selected candidate will possess a background in the development of Java software integration for a wide variety of backend processing applications. The candidate must have solid hands-on development experience with Java/J2EE, Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL, and UNIX.

• Perform all levels of work when required in addition to high level, customer facing work through the project lifecycle.
• Perform hands on requirements gathering.
• Design, document, and develop supporting application modules that are used to provide integration on an Oracle Benefits product.
• Participate with the internal team (remote onshore and offshore locations) in design sessions. 
• Develop effective test cases for services and integrated tools.
• Provide production support for application modules in a world-wide investment environment.
• Provide status reporting on individual work assignments.
• Travel may be required to remote offices and project sites.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science is required
• 3-7 years of hands on development of Java/JEE experience is required
• 2-5 years of development experience using Oracle DB versions 10/11g, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle Applications.
• One of the following Application Server experience is preferred: Websphere / WebLogic / Jboss, Apache Tomcat
• Operating Systems and Environments – UNIX /Linux experience needed / Shell Scripting is plus

Pluses / Preferred:

• Front-end UI development / design experience on AJAX, JSPs, JavaScript/CSS/HTML is a plus
• JavaScript tool-kit (DOJO, GWT, YUI, JQuery)
• Consuming Web Services (JAX-WS / SOAP / WSDL / RESTful)
• 2-3 years' experience using the Struts MVC Framework
• iBatis / Hibernate (ORM) experience is a plus
• Waterfall development methodology is required (Agile is a plus)
• 2-4 years of progressive experience with data management and integration of systems
• Must show strong communication skills, assertiveness, creative problem solving skills, and comfortable being vocal
• Must demonstrate ability to communicate at a business function level with IS personnel, Customers and Management.
• Be well-versed in the full development life cycle and be capable defining/delivering multiple projects across all Fidelity Business Units.
• Must show technical background of database architecture, and ability to apply Fidelity best practices.
• Must show presentation, analytical, diagnostic, and creative problem solving skills.
• Working knowledge of a source control repository.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Education:

• B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Management.
